1/7 Sallya Sarya Tharja Fire Emblem Awakening Good Smile PVC Figurine Review

Here's Sallya/Sarya/Tharja or however you want to spell it, from Fire Emblem Awakening (Kakusei). It's a funny thing with Japanese names, nobody agrees on how to localise the spelling in a manner that satisfies everyone. Enough boring talk! We have an alluring dark mage to look at!

This here is a 1/7 scale figurine of Tharja from Fire Emblem: Awakening. She's casually leaning on a stack of books with a slightly suggestive expression on her face. There's definitely something sexy about her, all while being fully clothed. Granted, a body hugging outfit like that does leave little to the imagination.

The shading and colour of this figurine is excellent. There's a deep richness to it which makes it different from the more common and vividly coloured figurines. Our sample had a slight paint blemish just above her sash. It is a little disappointing because the rest of it is so good. This is probably not going to affect most other samples though. The thing is, I only noticed this flaw when editing the photos. I went back to the figurine afterwards and could barely make it out. A sharp camera lens and a flash expose things in great detail, to the naked eye it's almost invisible.

It's interesting to note that this figurine stands upright without any support pins to fix the figure to the base. The small table with the books and the skull are also free standing. The base itself has a lovely, soft, material covering which looks much better than a shiny, plastic base. Tharja's cape does act as a support but it is removable. I found it harder to pose her leaning on the books this way. The books raise her up and make her less stable but only without the cape. She can stand on her own without the books but that looks a little unnatural.

This is a well produced, enticing figurine. The pose, paintwork and delicate yet deliberate facial
expression all combine perfectly. I love her shapely and well defined body. It also stands out from
recent figurine releases. If you're a fan of the character or just want something a little different
to add to your collection, give this one some serious consideration.
