Bravely Second End Layer Deluxe Collector's Edition Unboxing

A quick and dirty look at what's in the box of the collector's edition of Bravely Second End Layer.

We were big fans of the original Bravely Default. It was a traditional JRPG with enough minor changes to make it feel familiar yet innovative to fans of the genre. The Deluxe Collector's Edition of that game was unboxed a while back. The sequel, Bravely Second, also has a tasty collector's edition.

The box for this version of the game is a beautiful, soft-touch and wide container. It feels super smooth and is almost velvety. A great first impression!

It flips up and reveals a striking illustration on the inside of the lid. A tray houses the game, soundtrack and mini Agnes figurine. The softcover artbook is underneath. When we reviewed the collector's edition for the old game, we felt that the figurine sculpt was too complex and thus poorly finished. At that time we suggested that a "a chibi version with a simpler sculpt" would of been better. Well, they've done just that!

The new Agnes figurine is much smaller but it's also easier on the eye and more representative of what she actually looks like in the game. I think it's pretty cute! Compared to the old Agnes figurine, this one is much smaller and lighter. It's a pity that the old one looks a bit strange because it does feel like a quality product.

While we're on the subject of comapring things, here's how the boxes look:

Once again, the Deluxe Collector's Edition for the new game in the Bravely series is an impressive package. It offers the same things that were in the Bravely Default CE box except for the AR cards. The artbook is soft-covered this time around but it's much thicker. The figurine is significantly smaller but it's cute and will almost certainly have more fans. Highly recommended for collectors and fans of the series.
