Fire Emblem: Fortunes Weave (Dagdan) Collector's Edition Unboxing

We live in a world where physical game releases have never been more threatened. So, it's always nice to go one step further, and get a collector's edition of a physical release!

The downside is that the price of games, even digital ones, has increased massively. Nintendo themselves flirted with $80 pricing. A knock-on effect seems to be that collector's/limited edition games are equally pricier and also more in demand. AND, that these versions often have less stuff included.

Is that the case here? Was my longwinded intro for nothing? More after the jump.

Yeah, it kind of was. This version has the exact same physical content as the Engage version, and I checked my receipts - the price was the same!

Here's the Fire Emblem Engage Collector's Edition

So while the digital and standard physical prices have gone up, the physical Collector's Edition was priced the same. Meaning this is actually good value! (Dependent on regional pricing and availability of course).

You get the game, a SteelBook, a map poster, an artbook and shiny art cards.

The physical box containing all this stuff was a little smaller than Bayonetta 3's or Xenoblade's Definitive Edition. I think the artbook is a tad smaller too, but still a nice size.

The cover is a combination of matte and glossy finishes with a bright gold title.

The pages are semi-glossy and show good detail. There's a mix of character and location art, but the balance seems more on characters with the layout like below:

So given that we have the same content at close to the same price, even with the price of everything else going up, I think it's easy to recommend this version to collectors.

It's the kind of CE I like. You get some cool stuff for a slight premium. No silly statues, fake guns, masks or other gimmicks.

The only thing that might be stopping you from getting your copy are scalpers and the limited quantities available.
