Friday the 13th was certainly a pleasant day for Nintendo fans as it saw the release of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3DS, Monster Hunter 4 and the New Nintendo 3DS. We take a look at the European Limited Edition of Majora's Mask.
This version of the game comes with a steelbook game case, a pin badge, a double-sided poster and the game itself. There is another version of the game that comes with a Skull Kid figurine.
This is the first time I've seen a steel case for a 3DS game and it's really neat! The mask illustration is embossed and the matt finish of the rest of the case has a nice feel and a pleasant sheen to it.
The steel book is gorgeous. |
The metal pin badge comes in a little box and also has a high quality, matt finish. It has a pleasant weight to it and has some intricate detailing.
The double-sided poster is folded and is obviously not rolled up as the press release photo shows. This means that there are fold creases on it. Aside from that, they look lovely! The paper is thick and also has a matt finish (like everything else eh?) which I feel suits the nature of the images better than a glossy finish would. They are about A2 sized.
The retailer where I bought my copy of the game from gave me a Majora's Mask necklace as a pre-order bonus. This would not normally be part of the package. The bath chain like necklace has a glossy Majora's Mask pendant. This is contained in a felt, drawstring pouch.
This is not part of the Limited Edition set. |
Conclusion
For about $10 more, you certainly get your money's worth with this Limited Edition version. I would wholeheartedly recommend spending the extra cash for it.
The game itself is excellent! I loved replaying the remade 3DS version of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask similarly manages to freshen up a classic game brilliantly. I'm only a few hours in but so far it's glorious!
